The Concrete Pipelaying Training Program provides valuable skills for workers involved in pipelaying and is aimed at enhancing the industries' ability to lay concrete pipes safely, economically and to the Standard and required specification.

The one day workshops are conducted by experienced instructors from the industry and include informative discussion and practical exercises aimed at identifying and developing the skills and knowledge of people working in the industry.The workshops are fully accredited, providing nationally-recognised training and have been endorsed by industry organisations and government and local authorities throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The program contains four modules:

• Introduction
• Site Preparation and Work Organisation
• Foundation and Bedding
• Laying and Jointing Pipes

Training Providers

Australia
IPWEA (NSW) present the Concrete Pipe Laying Training Program for the CPAA at venues throughout NSW. The program is delivered by registered trainers in the construction industry in conjunction with the CPAA.

Dates for 2010 are being considered.

Australia
The CCF through Civil Train present a Pipe Laying Training Program in a number of states throughout the country. Please contact the CCF/Civil train in your state for details on the availability of this program.

The Concrete Pipe Association of Australasia can deliver a 2 hour workshop, highlighting the important aspects of concrete pipe installation and reviewing specific site health and safety requirements with respect to installation. The program is aimed at works supervisors, contractors and project managers. It is also suitable for specifiers who are involved in on-site supervision. 

Details

The 3 hour workshops can be conducted by CPAA representatives in-house or externally (as required). The workshop includes a powerpoint presentation, DVD's and practical discussion of on-site experience.

All participants receive a certificate of attendance, a set of notes and CPAA publications on pipe laying.
